President William Ruto has decided to solve the traffic problem in Nairobi and other parts of Kenya by allocating Ksh 39.9 billion for major projects.

The budget has also allocated KSh 889 million for the development of Nairobi Railway City, a 425-acre integrated urban development along Haile Selassie Avenue, Uhuru Highway, Landhies Road and Bunyala on the road.

The UK government has pledged Sh 30 billion to support the Nairobi Railway City project and Ruto plans to add Sh889 million.

Another priority of Ruto is the rehabilitation of the rapid bus transportation system (BRT), which was first introduced under President Uhuru Kenyatta to solve Nairobi's transportation problems. Ruto asked for Kshs 1.1 billion to breathe new life into the project. The

BRT bus is designed to run along the Thika route with collection points along the highway. However, as stated in the World Bank's report published on August 1, 2022, the weak organization faces serious problems due to lack of coordination among relevant institutions, influence and insufficient political support.

Ndung announced its plans to request Sh244.9 billion from the National Assembly for the construction, rehabilitation and repair of roads and bridges, to support all infrastructure projects. In addition, Ruto plans to launch electric vehicles to reduce the impact of rising fuel prices and reduce transportation costs.
